Akota Protibondhi Unnayan Sangathan is a Disabled Peoples Organization (DPO) working in Natore district of Bangladesh. The organization was established 12 March 2000 being started involving 80 persons with disabilities with support from the ADD International Bangladesh. Now the organization has total 350 members; among them male 170 and female 180. The organization implements its activities ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities. According the bylaws of the organization there are 32 members in its General Committee and 7 members are in the Executive Committee.

The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary. Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote rights of persons with disabilities and improving their lives with supports from government and non-government organizations. Besides, the organization is striving for partnership with the mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
